Mr. Rogers plays some Donkey Kong

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I watched Mr. Rogers when I was a kid. Looking back at this clip now, and the way things are today, Mr. Rogers comes out looking like a weirdo. I find it funny that the kid just won't let go of the joystick for a minute and let Mr. Rogers have a go. Damn kid. I bet he feels like a douche now. Mr. Rogers is dead, and who knows if he ever got a real chance to play Donkey Kong.

Oh my gosh!! Thank you TRON. I thought that was the case, but kept doubting myself. Now I have a nugget of trivia to ask him about if I ever see him.

My neighbor, right out of college, worked on the Mr. Rogers show for nearly 5 years and had nothing but NICE things to say about him. He said "I've never met a more considerate person in my life. If the money had been decent I would have stayed there forever". So go ahead and feel ok about having watched. Fred Rogers, it turns out, was a very decent person doing a good thing.
