This all reeks of desperate Paramount milking a tired cow with not much left to offer for the time. A real comeback would have happened naturally as people started to really want to see another Trek. Instead, we get a manufactured attempt to revitalize something no one cared about. Sure, it'll capture new audiences with JJ and his whizbang productioin style, but in the end Trek will have suffered for losing sight of what gave it such longevity. This junk may spur a couple of sequel, but overall I think it will be forgotten in the long run.
