Chuck Greene is the new main character of Dead Rising. You can gather from this trailer, that he really, really, hates zombies. Be it a chainsaw on a pole, 2 chainsaws on a pole, chainsaws attached to a dirt bike, or a big fluffy teddy bear, Chuck will use whatever he can to take down these flesh eating beasts.

Dead Rising 2 was officially announced back in February, and was teased with this trailer. This is the second, and much better trailer. The first was just a teaser; which teased us all. It was announced that the game will be hitting the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and the game will take place in a Vegas like setting called “Fortune City”.

We’ve also learned in the past few days, that Dead Rising 2 will have multiplayer. No specific game modes or player numbers were revealed, but this is still awesome news. Just imagine having 4, or 8, or possibly more human players in one game, at one time, using whatever items you can find as weapons to slay zombies. Now that sounds like a good family fun time.

This is the latest trailer for Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. This game is the followup to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and takes us through the story of Resident Evil 2.

The graphics are updated and the game is “on rails”, but watching this trailer just gives me a nostalgia attack. Growing up during the “Playstation era”, Resident Evil, especially Resident Evil 2, is one of my favorite games of all time. Sure, it’s not a remake, like many fans want, but it’s enough…for now.

The Darkside Chronicles hits the Nintendo Wii sometime towards the end of the year. Check out the new trailer above, and take a look at some previously released screens below…

Capcom announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii, as well as a port of the original Resident Evil, and Resident Evil Zero for the Wii.

I would much rather have a Resident Evil 2 remake, but I can’t deny that this trailer and these pictures are getting me excited. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a follow up to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and it takes place during the story of Resident Evil 2, and features Leon and Claire as the main characters; just like the actual game did. It’ll be “on rails”, an arcade shooter, not an open world game. The graphics look amazing. They’re probably not the best thing you’ve ever seen, but just looking at them, while remembering Resident Evil 2 on the PS1, this is amazing.

Capcom will be draining the wallets of many die hard Resident Evil fans. Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero ports, and now Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Not to mention Street Fighter 4.

Resident Evil Wii
So, as Resident Evil 5 comes out for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the Wii gets some zombie action of it’s own. Well, sort of.

Capcom has announced that they will port Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero to the Wii. The original Resident Evil was already ported to the Gamecube and Resident Evil Zero was an exclusive Gamecube game. Resident Evil Zero’s Wii port has been out in Japan for a while now, and it’s finally being released to the rest of the world. Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have been refitted to support the Wiimote and Nunchuk. I’m assuming that means they’ll both have an aiming system like Resident Evil 4 did on the Wii. If not, then there really isn’t any point in buying them; you can just play the Gamecube versions with the Wii.

So, two down, one to go. Many Resident Evil fans, including myself, want a full blown remake of Resident Evil 2. It’s easily my favorite of all the RE games so far, closely followed by RE4; and it needs a makeover with current generation consoles. It looks like we’re getting our wish…

So, Chris Redfield has been a major character in the Resident Evil story. He debuted in the first RE, back in 1996, and has made numerous appearances in other RE titles since then; as you know, he is also the main character in Resident Evil 5.

GameTrailers has put together this video showing us how he’s changed over the past 13 years. Watch the video to see how he’s gone from blocky pixels, to the roid raging hunk of a man he is now.

Resident Evil 5 is out in Japan now, and hits shelves in the US and UK this Friday!

Resident Evil 5 looks amazing, and it definitely looks like a worthy addition to the RE storyline. Would I rather have zombies, like there was back in the day? Sure, but this is good…for now.

Capcom has said that the next installment, Resident Evil 6, will be a full reboot of the series, and I’m glad. I’ve played all Resident Evil 1-4, as well as Code Veronica and Zero, and I have to say, even though I loved Resident Evil 4, zombies just make the game feel more intense and scary. Hopefully RE6 will give us a new city, new characters, and a new zombie outbreak.

Capcom has also said that Wii Owners/Resident Evil fans will be “very happy, very soon”. What does this mean? A new Resident Evil game for the Wii? Could the Resident Evil Zero port that is only out in Japan be coming to the US and the rest of the world? They better not get people all hyped up for another Umbrella Chronicles or any “on rails” game.

This is Part 4 of the Resident Evil Retrospective. It’s not as interesting as the first 3 parts, mainly because it’s all about the portable Resident Evil games that nobody cares about.

Watch Part 1, 2, and 3.

Wow. As a Wii and Xbox 360 owner, this video makes me sad. I love my 360, I love my Wii(sometimes), but this is ridiculous.

If you can afford a Wii, you can afford a 360, so go get one. This has to be one of the worst game downgrades ever. Usually ports are an upgrade. Less zombies, no driving, no camera, horrible graphics, and you can’t even cut people in half with a katana! What the hell is up with that? Did they not want to show that on the Wii, or did they just not take the time to make the animations?

So, missing gameplay features, and not so beautiful graphics; I have to recommend that Wii owners only buy this game if you have the money to blow, and you absolutely don’t want to invest in something worth the money…like an Xbox 360.

Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop, for the Wii, is out now. Dead Rising for the Xbox 360 is also out now; it has been for more than 2 years. Dead Rising 2 is coming out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, but no release date is set yet. Do yourself a favor, and get the Xbox now, so you can play the REAL Dead Rising, and Dead Rising 2 when it comes out.
