This is easily my favorite announcement from today’s Nintendo press conference at E3 2009. Not because it’s the best looking thing at E3, but because it’s the only thing from Nintendo that really got my attention.

Sure, it looks like Super Mario Galaxy 1. I’ve seen a lot of talk on the internet about how it’s just a recycled game. Well, I don’t think that’s true. There were 3 “Super Mario Bros.” games, there were 2 “Super Mario World” games. Why can’t there be 2 “Super Mario Galaxy” games? It’s exciting if you think about it. This is the first true, full sequel to a Mario game, on the same system, since the Nintendo NES with Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3. We all know Super Mario World 2 on the Super Nintendo wasn’t a true sequel.

What I’m really excited about? I’m sure you can guess it…Yoshi! Our favorite mountable little green dinosaur thing is back! I don’t know about you guys, but Yoshi has always secretly been my favorite thing in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is set for release sometime in 2010. By “sometime”, I mean anytime from January 1st, 2010 through December 31st, 2010. The wait is on!

Metroid Other M was announced at E3, during Nintendo’s press conference earlier today. It’s the trailer that ended the show, and was probably had the biggest crowd reaction. Even more than all the little DS games, the finger peripheral, and all the many Mario games.

Check out the trailer and wait for Metroid Other M, which is due sometime in 2010!

Capcom announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii, as well as a port of the original Resident Evil, and Resident Evil Zero for the Wii.

I would much rather have a Resident Evil 2 remake, but I can’t deny that this trailer and these pictures are getting me excited. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a follow up to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and it takes place during the story of Resident Evil 2, and features Leon and Claire as the main characters; just like the actual game did. It’ll be “on rails”, an arcade shooter, not an open world game. The graphics look amazing. They’re probably not the best thing you’ve ever seen, but just looking at them, while remembering Resident Evil 2 on the PS1, this is amazing.

Capcom will be draining the wallets of many die hard Resident Evil fans. Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero ports, and now Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Not to mention Street Fighter 4.

Check out the trailer above and look at these beautiful pictures below…

Resident Evil Wii
So, as Resident Evil 5 comes out for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the Wii gets some zombie action of it’s own. Well, sort of.

Capcom has announced that they will port Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero to the Wii. The original Resident Evil was already ported to the Gamecube and Resident Evil Zero was an exclusive Gamecube game. Resident Evil Zero’s Wii port has been out in Japan for a while now, and it’s finally being released to the rest of the world. Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have been refitted to support the Wiimote and Nunchuk. I’m assuming that means they’ll both have an aiming system like Resident Evil 4 did on the Wii. If not, then there really isn’t any point in buying them; you can just play the Gamecube versions with the Wii.

So, two down, one to go. Many Resident Evil fans, including myself, want a full blown remake of Resident Evil 2. It’s easily my favorite of all the RE games so far, closely followed by RE4; and it needs a makeover with current generation consoles. It looks like we’re getting our wish…

A video about useless Wii peripherals and horrible shovelware games equals comedy gold.

This is Part 4 of the Resident Evil Retrospective. It’s not as interesting as the first 3 parts, mainly because it’s all about the portable Resident Evil games that nobody cares about.

Watch Part 1, 2, and 3.

Wow. As a Wii and Xbox 360 owner, this video makes me sad. I love my 360, I love my Wii(sometimes), but this is ridiculous.

If you can afford a Wii, you can afford a 360, so go get one. This has to be one of the worst game downgrades ever. Usually ports are an upgrade. Less zombies, no driving, no camera, horrible graphics, and you can’t even cut people in half with a katana! What the hell is up with that? Did they not want to show that on the Wii, or did they just not take the time to make the animations?

So, missing gameplay features, and not so beautiful graphics; I have to recommend that Wii owners only buy this game if you have the money to blow, and you absolutely don’t want to invest in something worth the money…like an Xbox 360.

Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop, for the Wii, is out now. Dead Rising for the Xbox 360 is also out now; it has been for more than 2 years. Dead Rising 2 is coming out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, but no release date is set yet. Do yourself a favor, and get the Xbox now, so you can play the REAL Dead Rising, and Dead Rising 2 when it comes out.

Here are three new gameplay videos of Madworld for the Nintendo Wii. This game is riding a lot of hype right now, and it’ll probably be a hit. It’s rare to see so much gore, or blood at all on the Wii. Yes, you do hear the voice of John DiMaggio; the man who plays the voices of Bender in Futurama, and Marcus Phoenix in Gears of War 1 & 2.

Madworld hits shelves in North America on March 10th; in Europe on March 20th. Continue reading to watch two more videos.
