Good News Everyone! Or as Hermes might say, “Sweet gorilla of Manila!”
Futurama has been picked up and revived by Comedy Central for 26 new episodes! A rumor has been circulating the internet that Comedy Central was seeking to pickup Futurama for 13 episodes, but the news is even sweeter now that it’s 26.
Futurama originally aired on Fox for 4 seasons, until it was canceled back in 2003. Since then, for the past 6 years, fans of the show have been showing anger over the unjust cancellation. After all the years, Fox picked Futurama back up for 4 straight to DVD movies, which turned out to be huge successes.
As a die hard fan of Futurama, this news is nearly bringing a tear to my eye. Futurama is easily, in my opinion, the best computer animated TV show. If I happen to watch an episode of Family Guy or The Simpsons, I always wish it was Futurama.
20th Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden:
When we brought back Family Guy several years ago, everyone said that it was a once in a lifetime thing — that canceled series stay canceled and cannot be revived. But Futurama was another series that fans simply demanded we bring back, and we couldn’t have been happier when Matt (Matt Groening) and David (David X. Cohen) agreed that there were many more stories yet to tell.
We can expect the new Futurama episodes to begin airing sometime in mid-2010!
Here are six new TV spots of the upcoming second season of True Blood, on HBO.
For all the fans of the show, don’t forge to watch Heroes tonight!
