I know I’m ready for the zombie apocalypse. I’ve read the official Zombie Survival Guide multiple times. So if you haven’t, don’t come crying to me when a zombie is eating your face off. Do yourself a favor before it’s too late, and buy the Zombie Survival Guide. It’s on sale right now for $10.94 on Amazon.com.

Chris Redfield Resident EvilResident Evil 5 has shipped 4 million units across the world already. It’s only been out in the US since Friday, less than 4 full days ago. Now, shipped doesn’t mean sold, shipped just means how many units Capcom has sent out to stores and sellers. I doubt it’ll take long for the game to actually sell 4 million, if it already hasn’t.

Personally, I haven’t played the game yet. I’m kind of scared to. All the bad reviews are making me think this game might ruin my love for the Resident Evil franchise. I agree with most reviews, that RE5 is pretty much just RE4 with new graphics slapped over it. The demo was decent, but…

Resident Evil Wii
So, as Resident Evil 5 comes out for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the Wii gets some zombie action of it’s own. Well, sort of.

Capcom has announced that they will port Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero to the Wii. The original Resident Evil was already ported to the Gamecube and Resident Evil Zero was an exclusive Gamecube game. Resident Evil Zero’s Wii port has been out in Japan for a while now, and it’s finally being released to the rest of the world. Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have been refitted to support the Wiimote and Nunchuk. I’m assuming that means they’ll both have an aiming system like Resident Evil 4 did on the Wii. If not, then there really isn’t any point in buying them; you can just play the Gamecube versions with the Wii.

So, two down, one to go. Many Resident Evil fans, including myself, want a full blown remake of Resident Evil 2. It’s easily my favorite of all the RE games so far, closely followed by RE4; and it needs a makeover with current generation consoles. It looks like we’re getting our wish…

Resident Evil 5 looks amazing, and it definitely looks like a worthy addition to the RE storyline. Would I rather have zombies, like there was back in the day? Sure, but this is good…for now.

Capcom has said that the next installment, Resident Evil 6, will be a full reboot of the series, and I’m glad. I’ve played all Resident Evil 1-4, as well as Code Veronica and Zero, and I have to say, even though I loved Resident Evil 4, zombies just make the game feel more intense and scary. Hopefully RE6 will give us a new city, new characters, and a new zombie outbreak.

Capcom has also said that Wii Owners/Resident Evil fans will be “very happy, very soon”. What does this mean? A new Resident Evil game for the Wii? Could the Resident Evil Zero port that is only out in Japan be coming to the US and the rest of the world? They better not get people all hyped up for another Umbrella Chronicles or any “on rails” game.

The third episode of the Resident Evil Retrospective gives us the history of Resident Evil: Code Veronica for the Sega Dreamcast, and Resident Evil Zero for the Nintendo Gamecube. Both great games, and both in my top 4 favorite RE games so far.

Watch Parts 1, and 2 for the history of Resident Evil 1-3.

This has to be one of the best video game trailers I’ve ever seen. If you’re into the Resident Evil series, you’ll love this trailer. All the history with Chris, Wesker, and at the end of the trailer, I’m guessing the hidden face is that of Claire, Chris’s sister.

Who knows, it might even be Jill Valentine; we haven’t seen her since Resident Evil 3. It could be her because in a trailer for Resident Evil 5 last year, there was a single frame, and it showed Jill’s tombstone. Why bother showing her tombstone if she has nothing to do with the game? Also because Chris and Jill were the two main characters in Resident Evil 1.

Resident Evil 5 is hitting shelves on March 13th, for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Continue reading this post to see some new gameplay footage.
