Nintendo has officially announced the arrival of the Black Wii in North America! It’s been available in Europe for a few months, but now it’s coming to the Americas!
The new bundles will come with either black or white Wii, and will include both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, Nunchuk, Wiimote, and the MotionPlus accessory. All for the same price of the current Wii, $199. The new bundles will hit North America on May 9th; this coming Sunday.
So now if you’re one of the millions of Wii owners in North America, you can either go out and buy the sexy new black Wii, or look at your old white Wii in disgust every time you turn it on. This thing isn’t just a big piece of useless plastic like most Wii accessories are. The wand holds both the Wiimote and nunchuk, and the pack has LED lights indicating which controllers are currently connected to the Wii, and how much battery power is left. Also, because the Wiimote is wireless, the wand is not connected to the pack, so you can use it to play all those “on rails”, arcade shooters for the Wii.
