I know a lot of people probably haven’t even heard of this movie. Well, here it is.
Moon stars Sam Rockwell as Sam Bell; a man who’s been living on the Moon for 3 years, mining the gas Helium 3. Helium 3 is the answer to Earth’s energy crisis. Why is one man doing this, and not an entire team to get it done faster? Beats me.
As you can see from the trailer, he obviously begins to become insane from being alone for so long. If the only physical contact you had in 3 years was a computer named GERTY, you might go a little crazy too.
Moon has been rounding all the film festivals this year, and is set for a limited release in theaters on June 12th in the United States. So, if you’re not lucky enough to catch this one in theaters, you’ll probably be waiting for the DVD.

This photo is pretty amazing. It is the first photo, ever taken of Earth, from the Moon. The photo is turned sideways so I could fit it in the post, so click on it to see it full size. This photo was taken in 1966 by Lunar Orbiter 1. The photo was taken a couple years before the first humans landed on the Moon and took even more detailed, and colored photos. This may not be colored, and it may not look as spectacular as those photos, but this is may be one of the most important photos in the history of mankind. Thanks to APOD.
