This is the latest trailer for Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, from E3 2009. This game is the followup to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and takes us through the story of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
The graphics are updated and the game is “on rails”, but watching this trailer just gives me a nostalgia attack. Growing up during the “Playstation era”, Resident Evil, especially Resident Evil 2, is one of my favorite games of all time. Sure, it’s not a remake, like many fans want, but it’s enough…for now.
The Darkside Chronicles hits the Nintendo Wii sometime towards the end of the year!
Capcom announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii, as well as a port of the original Resident Evil, and Resident Evil Zero for the Wii.
I would much rather have a Resident Evil 2 remake, but I can’t deny that this trailer and these pictures are getting me excited. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a follow up to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and it takes place during the story of Resident Evil 2, and features Leon and Claire as the main characters; just like the actual game did. It’ll be “on rails”, an arcade shooter, not an open world game. The graphics look amazing. They’re probably not the best thing you’ve ever seen, but just looking at them, while remembering Resident Evil 2 on the PS1, this is amazing.
Capcom will be draining the wallets of many die hard Resident Evil fans. Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero ports, and now Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Not to mention Street Fighter 4.
Check out the trailer above and look at these beautiful pictures below…

Capcom has announced that they will port Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero to the Wii. The original Resident Evil was already ported to the Gamecube and Resident Evil Zero was an exclusive Gamecube game. Resident Evil Zero’s Wii port has been out in Japan for a while now, and it’s finally being released to the rest of the world. Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have been refitted to support the Wiimote and Nunchuk. I’m assuming that means they’ll both have an aiming system like Resident Evil 4 did on the Wii. If not, then there really isn’t any point in buying them; you can just play the Gamecube versions with the Wii.
So, two down, one to go. Many Resident Evil fans, including myself, want a full blown remake of Resident Evil 2. It’s easily my favorite of all the RE games so far, closely followed by RE4; and it needs a makeover with current generation consoles. It looks like we’re getting our wish… …Continue reading Capcom Announces 3 New Resident Evil Games for the Wii!
