The Borg are in the Delta Quadrant. This map is only a small slice of the Alpha/Beta quadrants.

Don't blame the poster for the inaccuracies. This is a 'semi-official' Paramount publication. The inaccuracies most likely come from trying to harmonize all of the canonized materials.

Thanks for posting the map here.
This is the best one ive seen online so far, innaccurate or not still interesting.

I was never really interested in the different series other than TNG but now ive seen DS9, and currently watching Enterprise.

Maybe not the best Sci Fi but its all entertaining, shame they canned Enterprise after series 4, I didnt think it was that bad.

I bought this book and while i learned a lot about the Classes of Planets and Stars, the map of the known universe is not very good and IMHO, full of inaccuracies. I can't remember which ones now, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't a lot of research put into getting that map very accurate.

I actually am genuinely curious the route that one cube took to get to earth in the two part episode when captain Plicard gets abducted.

Also, where the abduction took place, the nebula the enterprise hid in, the large battles that took place along the way, and anything else would be kewl.

The Borg are waaay too far away to be on this map.

Excuse me,

After all the research that was completed to ensure the accuracy of this map.. I do notice you are missing a small species called THE BORG!!!!

please correct your useless set of pixels to reflect my request.

I'm with Observer - man, that Romulan empire could really take off once they discover the third dimension ;)

If you stand WAY back, you can see the Virgin Mary.

Nice, but need more resolution to see the fine details.

Like 7000x4000 pixels of sort.

I have an interactive version of this map here:

wow. top geek!

Tom Farrell on February 14th, 2008, 1:08 pm

Yes, but did the creators of the map look up the *actual* locations of the planets of the star trek universe from the paper Roddenberry published on the subject in the Astrophysical Journal, or did they just make them up?

Librarian on February 14th, 2008, 12:17 pm

It is a very nice map.
And so is the rest of the atlas/book that it was scanned from.

How kind those races were to have all evolved on the same two dimensional plane!

Stellar Cartography is in 3 dimensions Hollywood!

Riker should have battled Picard to the death for the captain's seat.
