Surrogates stars Bruce Willis as an FBI agent of all things, and he’s investigating a murder. That’s the basic story, but I’m not really interested in that. What I’m interested in, are the surrogates.
A surrogate is a robot. Sounds cool, but there’s more. The robot is a perfect copy of yourself, and you can live vicariously through them. You wake up in the morning, lay down in the super, high tech control lounge, and you go online. Your surrogate comes to life, you stay in your home, and the surrogate goes out and acts for you.
Everything sounds great. You stay safely in the house, letting your surrogate go out in the dangerous world. You control what they do, you experience everything that your surrogate does, you see what they see, you live what they do. Yeah, it all sounds great…until a murder occurs. A surrogate is murdered! The human controlling that surrogate dies as well! How is that possible? I guess we’ll have to see the movie to find out. It’s like The Matrix and I Robot all at the same time! I’m in! Watch the trailer below and decide for yourself.
This is probably the most interesting trailers for an animated film I’ve seen so far this year. Sure, Up looks like it will be another great movie from Disney and Pixar, and the buzz about Toy Story 3 is exciting, but it’s refreshing to see different companies coming out with unique ideas every once in a while.
9 is an animated film about the end of humanity. The machines are taking over, destroying civilization. Sound familiar? Probably. This movie, to me, is like a mix between LittleBigPlanet and Terminator. Sackboy is…John Connor.
Do yourself a favor and watch this trailer, it’s well worth the time. Not only can you get a taste of what looks like a great movie, but you get to listen to a great choice of a song, “Welcome Home”, by the band Coheed and Cambria.
Usually, I don’t like all the weird Japanese stuff, but this might be different. It’s an ad for The Legend of Zelda, made back in the early 90’s. I’m not sure why Link being played by a female, but I think I like it.
Warner Bros. has released a brand new clip from the sixth Harry Potter movie. It’s one of the more light clips. To be honest, I’d much rather see a clip from a battle, a clip from the cave with Harry and Dumbledore, or even a Quidditch clip. Well, I guess this is at least better than nothing.
This is probably my least favorite Prototype video so far. Every trailer, cinematic, and gameplay video I’ve seen so far has been awesome, I’m not going to let this one lackluster video change my wanting to play this game. Boring video is still better than no video.
Prototype hits shelves for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 9th in the US and on June 12th in Europe! Check out more:
There are 12 new photos from the movie, and two are of Megan Fox. I wish all 12 were of her, but oh well, Optimus Prime is cool too. In case you missed it, a new full length trailer hit the web a couple weeks ago, so go watch the latest Transformers 2 trailer now.
Transformers 2 finally hits theaters next month on June 24th, and is no doubt going to dominate the box office for weeks. That is, until Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince takes over on July 15th.
