ATTENTION: To all the readers and fans of Geekstir, I am sorry for the lack of updates over the past 2 months. Due to personal reasons and obligations, the site has been on autopilot for a while. BUT! Good news. Geekstir will be relaunched within a couple weeks. An exact date is not determined, but I guarantee it will be soon, at least before the middle of September. All new layout, all new software, all new content. It has been reported that in the scene where Tony Stark is trying to get the Iron Man suit off, you can see Captain America's shield in the background. I didn't notice anything when I saw the movie, did you? I almost thought about going to see it again, just to see if I could spot the shield. Then I figured I'd be way into the movie to even remember to look at the right time. This is the best photo I can find at the moment. Look in the bottom left corner. Is this Captain America's shield? Supposedly, when you see the movie, it's much clearer, and in it's full red, white and blue glory.
No, unfortunately, this is not a leaked photo of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek 11. This is the work of a man named Gabe Koerner. We have seen the Enterprise in the first Star Trek 11 trailer, but it was under construction, and we only saw the top. Too bad the movie got pushed back from Christmas 2008, to Summer 2009. It'll be interesting to see how the funny guys Simon Pegg and John Cho tone down their humor for their roles as Scotty and Sulu. Well, Sulu mainly, I'm sure Scotty will have some good lines.
Marvel Studios goes mad and confirms a massive list of movies for the future. Hot off the huge opening weekend success of Iron Man, Marvel shares with us, their schedule through 2011.
Iron Man 2 has been confirmed for April 30, 2010. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark and Iron Man. I saw Iron Man on Saturday, and let me tell you, it was epic. It was only a matter of time before The Avengers movie was confirmed...if you saw the scene after the credits in Iron Man, you know what I mean.
Thor has been confirmed for June 4, 2010. There isn't much info for it yet, other than the director will be Matthew Vaughn.
We'll be getting two epic movies in 2011. The first being: The First Avenger: Captain America. The Captain America movie is confirmed for May 6, 2011. Again, not much info. There is a rumor going around that Matthew McConaughey is Marvel's top choice to play the Cap, but of course, that is only a rumor.
Now, finally, the news that shook the world, and caused many heart attacks among comic geeks...The Avengers movie. No news yet on who will be in it, who will be playing who, or what the plot is. I hope Robert Downey Jr, Edward Norton, and whoever gets the role as Thor and Captain America are in it. If the movie doesn't keep the cast of the solo movies, it won't be as good. What would you rather have, a cast of no names taking up the roles of The Avengers, or the guys who played them in their solo movies. I doubt Tobey Maguire would ever be in the movie, it would be awesome though. Heck, it'd be awesome if we ever get to see him reprise his role in a Spider-Man 4.
Check out this epic vid. A fan took clips from the 1989 Batman movie, and made them look exactly like the latest Dark Knight trailer. At first, I thought the new Dark Knight trailer was ripping off the old movie, but after a little research, I found out it was fan made. The Dark Knight released on July 18th, 2008. Hooray!
A new trailer for The Dark Knight has hit the web. Click on the image above, or click here to watch it. I kind of think this trailer gave too much away...Towards the end , you see Harvey Dent, being held down in a puddle of gas. I can only assume this is how he becomes Two-Face. The Dark Knight FINALLY hits theaters on July 18th, 2008.
