Mortal Kombat Possibly Getting a Dark, Gritty Reboot – Geekstir

This video appeared on the internet this morning, and nobody really knows what it is. Obviously it’s an awesomely made, badass Mortal Kombat trailer; but for what? Some reports are saying it’s a viral video for a new Mortal Kombat game, some are saying it’s a short film to gather support and funding for an R-Rated movie reboot, and some are saying it’s a teaser trailer for an actual movie. Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

UPDATE: Jeri Ryan, Geek Goddess of Star Trek: Voyager fame, and the actress who plays Sonya in this film has confirmed via twitter that it was in fact made to sell Warner Bros. on a reimagined Mortal Kombat movie.
