  • Meh, its probably not worth the effort but i had a feeling this movie wouldnt live up to the hype..what will they do next ? a pg 13 version of the terminator? oh wait >.> damn you hollywood!
  • You don't think it lived up to the hype? I thought it was an amazing movie. I loved seeing the classic Star Trek brought into the new age for old and new fans to enjoy together.
  • There were moments i enjoyed..but for a majority of the film it felt very i dont know been there done that. you cant tell me nero wasnt a khan rip off. They were both Seeking vengence for a dead wife. both using a weapon that can destroy a planet. And both a result of some sort of time travel..well that last ones a stretch i suppose

ive seen other people say this was a top gun rip off. Which when you think about it really it is too..then theres the whole "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" thing which i dont feel like going into
  • I don't really think it was a ripoff of anything. It's Star Trek with a new story. Every episode of Star Trek had a new story, those stories may be similar to stories from anything like books, other movies and tv shows, but it's still original because it's in the world of Star Trek. You can easily say something is ripping something else off based on it's key plot, but that's not saying much. There are only so many things that can drive a movie. Love, revenge, saving the world, etc. For example, take a look at this: http://www.geekstir.com/potter-wars
  • Yeah thats "the hero with the thousand faces" which is well known to be used by George Lucas. Im not suprised to find out harry potter is based off it too..

THE SHORT FORM OF THE HERO STORY:

The hero is introduced in his ordinary world, where he receives the
call to adventure. He is reluctant at first but is encouraged by
the wise old man or woman to cross the first threshold, where he
encounters tests and helpers. He reaches the innermost cave, where
he endures the supreme ordeal. He seizes the sword or the treasure
and is pursued on the road back to his world. He is resurrected and
transformed by his experience. He returns to his ordinary world with
a treasure, boon, or elixir to benefit his world.

It wasnt a terrible movie but that doesnt make it a great movie. I guess i was expecting the enterprise not the USS Abercrombie & Fitch

They turned Ohura from a strong black woman that black girls looked up to in the sixtys to just sexy eye candy for men. I thought Scotty was fun as hes always been. Spock was way too emotional. way more emotional than he should of been.

Maybe things will be better in the next movie.
