Check out this developer walkthrough for DC Universe Online. You can choose to be a hero or a villain, customize your powers and appearance, and of course, since it’s an MMO, you can PVP and do quests.

I’m really looking forward to this game. I’ve quit the World of Warcraft probably for good, and I think this is the kind of MMO I really want to play. This footage isn’t that exciting, but at least we get to see a little bit of how the game works. I do like the way this game looks, and the idea of being a hero or villain, having epic battles with actual people, but I think I’d rather play Marvel Universe Online. Nothing against DC, but Marvel just has a lot more great characters and stories.

DC Universe Online is being released on the PS3 and PC. I’ll definitely be getting this one for the PC. I can’t really imagine playing an MMO on a console. The release date is not set yet, but look for it before the end of the year.

Watch the 2nd part of this video after the break.

    Looks like City of Heroes

    Agreed. Marvel Universe is better!
  • I'm just hoping there's a lot of different powers and abilities to choose from. I wonder if the PS3 players will be able to play with the PC players...
  • Hobbs
Looks like the same power over and over again
  • Well you're not Sylar or Peter Petrelli. How many superheroes have more than 1 or 2 powers? Not many. Superman has a lot of different ones, but everybody else is pretty limited to a specific ability.

This really really looks like a straight ripoff from City of Villains or City of Heroes (played both) I mean, the way melee costs energy, the way the NPC mobs looked really like the CoH mobs, with rifles and all, The way you see to have a limited amount of powers...i just hope they added enough of their own to the formula to actually make it fun.

I dont know when developers will get that open pvp world especially one where you can go to lower level areas with your higher level char, will only end in griefing griefing griefing. Instances where players are matched together to provide some level of fairness is alot better.
