Toys, Memorabilia – Geekstir

It’s a bird! It’s a plane!  No, it’s Specialman! It’s well known that the Chinese make a lot of cheap knockoffs of popular products; but exactly what powers does Spader-Man have? What is a Spader? Is Silverbat one of Batman’s lesser known sidekicks?  What about this “Change Robot”? Is it a robot that campaigns for President Obama? Actually, I could see this “Change Robot” being a great idea. It would be huge. They could get Megan Fox to be in the movies!

You can find a lot of similar toys in most dollar stores around America. When the next relative birthday comes around, don’t shell out $20 for a name brand hero, go pick up one of these “superhero” knockoffs. Watch the face for a reaction, if there is none, you’ve succeeded, and they can’t even tell the difference. Check out the Chinese superhero knockoffs below…

Star Wars Trash Compactor Book Ends

Okay, so maybe I was pandering to the prequel haters with that title. What can I say? I’m riding shotgun in the bandwagon. I don’t know about you guys, but I could definitely feature this on my DVD shelf. It’s awesome. Whoever came up with the idea is a modern day genius.

They are 6 inches deep, 12 inches Wide and 7.5 inches high, made of high quality poly-stone, and they’re individually hand painted. They also come with a unique number and certificate of authenticity.

Sadly, these bookends are only for pre-order right now. They start shipping in April 2010 according to the website. Right now they’re on sale for $189.99, originally $199.99. Pricey, but a definite must buy if you want to show off your Star Wars DVD collection or book collection with style.
