This thing isn’t just a big piece of useless plastic like most Wii accessories are. The wand holds both the Wiimote and nunchuk, and the pack has LED lights indicating which controllers are currently connected to the Wii, and how much battery power is left. Also, because the Wiimote is wireless, the wand is not connected to the pack, so you can use it to play all those “on rails”, arcade shooters for the Wii. Designer Adam Fredrick took one of the greatest strategy games of all time, and turned it into a modern battle of epic proportions. No longer is it black vs. white. It’s PC vs. Mac! Personally, I think it would be even better if the King pieces were miniature figures of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. But then the Queen pieces would have to be an Apple iPad versus a PC tablet. I always knew pennies had potential. Why else would they still be made? Nobody uses pennies to buy things. It’s 2010, dammit! The lights are actually functional, and playing along with the game. It might not look like it at first, but that’s because the kid is playing on the easiest setting, with far fewer notes to hit. I’d like to see somebody take a crack at this playing DragonForce’s “Through the Fire and Flames” on the expert setting.

The Nintendo Rubik’s Cube is the same as a regular Rubik’s cube, but instead of solid colors, there are classic Nintendo characters and logos. Green is Triforce, Blue is the Starfox logo, White is Kirby’s face, Yellow is a Pokeball, Orange is Samus’s logo, and Red is Mario’s hat.

This Dagobah frog habitat is the perfect environment to raise your frogs in. Not only will they learn the ways of the force, but maybe, just maybe they’ll gain some of that famous Yoda insight. I might consider wearing a shirt that actually has cuffs, just so I can wear these cufflinks. Sure, they could be better. Something like Gears of War cufflinks, or Big Daddy cufflinks, or pretty much any Nintendo character, but Halo cufflinks are still decent. If you really, really feel the need to have Master Chief attached to your clothing, you can buy these cufflinks for about $25 at Etsy.

Okay, so maybe I was pandering to the prequel haters with that title. What can I say? I’m riding shotgun in the bandwagon. I don’t know about you guys, but I could definitely feature this on my DVD shelf. It’s awesome. Whoever came up with the idea is a modern day genius.

This is insane. Behold the Petaminx, a dodecahedral puzzle. This is custom built and contains nearly 1000 moving pieces. It took over 2 months to make, including 20 hours on masters and molds, 12 hours on casting parts, 30 hours on cleaning up parts and sanding, 7 hours assembling, and 6 hours stickering.
