Let’s see how badly some people want a free iPhone. Surprisingly, not that badly. Most people grabbed once, and gave up. I would have sat there and peeled that iPhone off the ground and it would have become mine! Muhuhahahahahaa!

Notice the guy who drops the roses to make it look like he’s not trying to snatch up the iPhone.

powerbook hit by foul ball

Poor guy. His shiny cool Apple PowerBook gets struck by an obviously “PC” baseball. Notice the girl recording it with an Apple iPhone at the end.

EDIT: For some reason, the video was taken down from Vimeo. Click on the picture to see more.

So after all the years of the Get a Mac commercials with the PC Guy and the Mac Guy, Microsoft finally decided to hit back with their PC Hunter ads.

In the commercials, a shopper would be told, if they can find a computer they want, for under $1500, they can keep it. The person would then look at all the Windows laptops, compliment the specs and prices, then look at the Macs, say they’re overpriced, and finish the commercial off by picking a PC with higher specs for a cheaper price.

Apple recently lowered MacBook prices, so they were pretty pissed off when the original commercial had lines like this, “This Mac is $2,000, and that’s before adding anything.”, and, “Why would you pay twice the price?”

For some reason, Microsoft decided to change the commercial, and released the one at the top of this post. Not much has changed, but now she just says, “It seems like you’re paying a lot for the brand.”

Why Microsoft changed the ad is beyond me. Apple would never stop making their Mac Guy vs. PC Guy commercials, and I wouldn’t want them to, they’re funny. I don’t want to get into a Mac vs. PC debate, so I’ll just say, both have their pros and cons, and obviously Macs are more expensive than PCs with the same specs. Maybe it’s for the brand, maybe it’s for the style, or maybe it’s for the operating system; you be the judge.

iPhone Guy Icons

iPhone guy never changes facial expressions. I think my favorite icon is Weather. Force Lightning is always an awesome power to have. I just wish he’d held up a better state than Texas for Maps…

Snow White Apple MacBookAn Apple fanboy and MacBook owner decided to art up his computer with some nostalgic Disney goodness.

Credit to Flickr user LübeckerJung for the photo. Unfortunately, he gives no description. So, if you have any instructions on how to do this and where to get the materials to do it, post it in the comments for all those interested.

UPDATE: Thanks to commenter adsfds, who I’m assuming just randomly hit his/her keyboard when entering his/her name, for pointing out that these decals are sold on Etsy.com. Check out a larger photo below.

John Hodgman, the PC from Apple’s Mac commercials, administered a nerd test to President Barack Obama last night. It brings a real joy to my heart, knowing that our President is a Star Trek geek. Watch the video, it’s a good laugh.

PC World vs Macworld Magazine
I have a suspicion this magazine placement was staged!
